Flip Cap Assembly: Epson Robots & Precision Vision Technology
Summit’s Flip Cap Assembly Cell was designed around flexible technology, utilizing Epson robots guided with vision. The cell can assemble a dairy flip cap and an aseptic flip cap with minimal change over time. A precision flip cap closer was developed to close the caps before being leak tested using a Z-Axis leak test system in 4 up fashion. The remainder of the assembly is done 1 up, with the seal, retainer and spout using vision guided Epson robots before pressing the assembly and inspecting for defects using Keyence vision.
